iTunes: ‘No Error’, Track Names

Saturday May 7, 2016

itunes_logoI’ve been having a ‘No Error’ issue when trying to rip CDs in iTunes.  It appeared to have a problem connecting to the GraceNote server.

Here’s the fix I used:

  1. Close iTunes.
  2. Open terminal.
  3. cd ~/Library/Preferences
  4. mv com.apple.iTunes.plist ~/com.apple.iTunes.plist.bak
  5. Launch iTunes.

Found this over in the Apple support discussion forum from user ‘offroad99’ – my thanks to him!

My Listening – Music Milestones

Sunday September 13, 2009

I have been using Last.fm to track my music habits since April 2007.  It, through iTunes, logs all the tracks that I listen to when out with my iPod or in the house.

Since April 2007, I’ve listened to 26,701 tracks (as of this point in time!).  That’s an average of 30 tracks per day.

Just found a cool application which checks your Last.fm data and extracts your milestones.  Here are my milestone tracks at 5,000 track intervals.

Music and Last.fm

Saturday May 2, 2009

So, a little over two years and Last.fm has logged me playing over 22,000 tracks, which equates to an average of 30 tracks per day.  That’s a lot of music.

I did have some hiccups with the scrobbling software I was using previously and it failed to ‘scrobble’ all my tracks on a couple of occasions so the figure might be slightly lower than reality.  Since then, and since it reliably scrobbled tracks from iPods, I have been using the genuine Last.fm software on my Mac.

Last.fm is a great site for understanding your musical tastes and for finding new music.  The site suggests new music to you based on your listening habits.

To discover new music, I use Last.fm, Amazon’s recommendations and iTunes.  I buy my music from iTunes, Amazon Download, or on CD from Amazon.

My Last.fm profile page is here.
