307 Miles – One Year Ago

Sunday April 3, 2011

Wow, where has the year gone?

It was a year ago today, back on the 3rd of April 2010, when I set out on my 307 mile epic journey for charity.

307 miles, five days, alone, no back-up, one very heavy bike and lots of pain-killers.

Despite the pain and exhaustion during those five days, I look back on it with pride and happiness.  I raised almost £3,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

My father had Motor Neurone Disease (diagnosed in 2009) and he sadly passed away as a result of it in August 2010 – only four months after my ride.  I have great memories of him meeting me in Fishguard as I completed my journey.

Knole Park – National Trust

Sunday April 3, 2011

We’ve just joined the National Trust so we ventured out yesterday for our first visit: Knole Park, in Sevenoaks.

A great place for a day out, a 17th century house and a nice park (with deer).
